Mahler gathering

We just had a gathering to share our favourite versions of Mahler 9. It was attended by several Mahler music lovers/die-hard fans. Prof Lee Ou-fan was one of them. We all had a great time. One of the favourite versions by one participant was Jesus Lopez-Cobos's version (Telarc), and I have not had a chance to listen to it until the gathering. It was surprisingly good - very controlled but with pathos and excitement. Got to buy one soon.

Very much looking forward to De Waart's interpretation after 15 years of his recording of it, which was one of the acclaimed versions among the participants that day.
