CD Shops

Never talked about where I buy CDs:

2nd hand CD shops

- Mongkok Shun Wo Centre (basement and 10/F).

- Wan Chai

- Causeway Bay Centre

New CDs

- Pro-Sound

- A&B (Telford Garden), but it has closed down recently.

- HMV (used to go to TST one, which was so big - the classical section was located at 5/F, with half of the floor being Classical. Now I mostly go to Central, but only bought from them when the CDs are on sale.)

- Shun Cheong (only for historical recordings)

On Line

- Amazon (US, UK)

- Crotchet.co.uk

- CD-wow

- Musicandarts.com

- HMV Japan

HMV's TST shop had been moved. The new shop is at the building opposite to the original one and much smaller. No need to visit there la.

I know, that's why I said I used to visit the TST one. The new one is so small that I don't feel like going there any more.

(轉左blogger beta真係好煩!打好又冇左,激死我喇!)

九龍灣德福開左HMV,classical section響返以往A&B Pro那個位置,因為不是古典人,所以未進去過...

I like Telford A&B & don't like new TST HMV too(very small, i hate the stair), i found some boxsets are much cheaper in A&B, such as a set of Brahms Chamber music in HMV $3XX, in A&B cheaper 10% ga! But the same location in Telford is HMV again.

I don't find Shun Cheong is very interesting now, prefer ProSound!

Aulina - I haven't been there yet but I don't think HMV in Kowloon Tong will have a very large Classical section.

Vicky - Thanks for your comments of my blog. Yes, the guy who worked there was quite knowledgeable in Hi-Fi ane Classical Music. So bad that it has closed down.

古思哲 - HK Records is good in the sense that it probably got the largest classical section in HK now. HMV is just hopeless. I complained to them that they should not make the classical section smaller and smaller because those who listned to classical music are the ones who can spend and will spend on CDs, they should make it larger instead of smaller.

YuenYuen - I hope Shun Cheong will open again soon in Central, with some discounts.
