i am a regular concert goer and i attended both mutter and zimerman's recent concerts here in hong kong. from my observation the musicality of the audience of the two concerts were in general of high level. i think this impressed the two soloists and they rounded up with enchores willingly. btw, expecting argerich's coming concert end of july.

Simon,

I agreed with you 98%. There was a false clapping in one of the pieces (I think it's the Chopin's sonata) in Zimerman's concert. I never understand why people would want to be the first to clap even if they are not sure whether that's the end of the piece!!

It seems that your musical taste is pretty much the same as mine. We could exchange more in the future.

Attended concerts in Shanghai several times. It's always disturbing with people making all kinds of noise and taking photos with flash lights. From time to time, there will be ladies holding up a lighted sign saying "do not take photos" and that's equally annoying.

I felt embarrassed when someone clapped in between the movements in Zimmerman's concert. I thought Hong Kong's standard should be high enough and I was disappointed.
